As per the 2024 Annaprashan Muhurat, not only parents, but for the entire family child birth is a festive moment. Each member of the family feels extremely happy and enthusiastic with the birth of a baby. For parents, all things done by their child are very special, like the first step, laugh, and the first word for their mouth. Also, it is the vital ritual where solid food items are fed to the baby for the first instance.
After breastfeed as the baby starts eating solid food for the first time, the ceremony is commemorated as Annaprashan in the child’s life. As per Hindu culture, in the Annaprashan ceremony the baby is fed with different food items and blessings are provided by parents & family members. Annaprashan means ‘eating of cooked rice’ and the ceremony of your child is done at home or any religious place or temple.
As per the Hindu scriptures, the Annaprashan Sanskar or Ceremony is performed in even months like the sixth, eighth, and tenth month. In the case of a girl child, the Annaprashan Ceremony is held in odd months like the seventh, ninth or the eleventh month.

2024 Annaprashan Muhurat says that for Annprashan, the auspicious Nakshatras are Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Ashwini, Rohini, Shatabhisha, Uttarabhadrapada, Revati Ardra, Punarvasu, Pushya, Uttarashada, Shravan, Dhanishtha, Chitra, Swati, and Anuradha.
Also, the favorable day for Annaprashan Ceremony is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
According to the 2024 Annaprashan Muhurat, on the day of the ritual, a plate is kept in front of the child filled with different materials like pens, books, gold ornaments, food, and a piece of clay. The child is then asked to pick up an item and it becomes the process to identify the choice of the kid. It is said that the item selected by the child from the plate will indicate the child's interest when they grow up.
For example, if the child picks a book from the plate then the child is believed to grow up as an intelligent & studious person or will get involved in the field of education. It will also indicate that that child will grow up to be a knowledgeable person and also will make right charities & also will have a sense of empathy for others.
